Spicy Creamy Shrimp Pasta

I try really hard to eat healthy foods most of the time. But at least once a week I will go all out and make something fried or creamy full of things that are totally not awesome for you. (I DO NOT believe in a completely restricted diet.)
So a few weeks ago for Fat Tuesday (we didn’t celebrate this year very much) I had to make something spicy and rich. Fresh shrimp are not a thing here, but I do what I can!

Ingredients

• large bag of extra large frozen shrimp

• 1/2 box of linguine pasta cooked

• 1 stick of butter, separated

• 8 minced garlic cloves

• 1 tsp red pepper flakes (or more for extra spiciness)

•  large spoonful of Flour

• 1/2 cup white wine

• 1/2 cup chicken broth

• 1/4 cup lemon juice

• 1/2 cup heavy cream

•  handful of chopped parsley

• 1 cup parmesan cheese

Directions

Over medium heat melt 1/2 stick of the butter. sautee 4 garlic cloves.  Add shrimp and cook until pink. Remove shrimp and set aside. Add the other half of the butter, the other 4 garlic cloves and red pepper flakes, let melt. Once melted add flour to create a rouge. Add wine, chicken broth, lemon juice and heavy cream. Cook the sauce until thickened. Add parmesan cheese and melt.  Add pasta and shrimp. Stir in parsley and cook until wilted.

Top with extra parmesan cheese and ENJOY!
