Raising the Bar: Red Velvet, Gingerbread and Cranberry

I’ve spent an extraordinary about of time in the kitchen the last couple of weeks. Enough that my body aches from it.  This weekend I churned out enough food to feed a small country. The main treat were all kinds of different bars. They are easy and they get eaten. You can’t go wrong with a good bar.  I included these (because there was an actual fight over them at Thanksgiving, (never mind it was between my husband and I. ) and at one point in time, and they were hidden in the house somewhere so no one else could eat them (that was not us)

So this year, I tried new kinds of bars and I loved them all. I ADORED the gingerbread bars because I only cook gingerbread things during the holidays. I can’t get myself to eat it at any other time. Just like I can’t eat pumpkin any later than November. It’s a thing, I know. The red velvet ones….pretty amazing as well. And the cranberry ones, were tart, yet they were a good diversion from all the sweet. I truly loved them all.

It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
