Had Get Out and Then Back To It

We headed out of dodge for the holiday. Was kind of a crazy week so it was really nice, just to get away. We headed over the hill toward Saratoga and Jack Creek and managed to find a secluded spot where we had a lake within a 10 minute walk,  and no one around. The whole day or night.  On the way, we hit the tail end of a small town parade. They don’t have parades like that where we live, and my kiddo was a little overwhelmed with the amount of candy being thrown. It was pretty awesome.

Where we ended up was sooooo quiet. So serene.  Had it’s own little waterfall. My little man fed us all with his  mad fishing skills. Though, I will admit, sleeping in the tent, was really cold because I’m a big baby….and all I could think of through the night was getting attacked by a bear. But other than that, it was wonderful.

The next day we made our way home and then just caught up a little, and mended our mosquito bites. Then we headed to Wheatland for another baptism. (It’s been a good year for that!) We’ve been able to catch up with so much family this summer and we get to snuggle babies too. These cousins came from Texas, where her mom just finished her residency and will be heading to Huston to work. We’re pretty proud of her. And when the fun was over we hit the golf course with grandpa. My kid managed to whack him in the head hard enough to knock him down….but him came back up fighting! Gotta love grandpa!
