Cream Cheese Mints

So, I’ve been trying to rack my brain for things the Dino Dude can take to school for a treat.

In this day and age, everyone is allergic to everything. And it’s a big deal.

So I went with simple.

I used to make these all the time for special treats. They are how I judge whether or not a wedding is good or not. They are time consuming. And the molds were a huge pain (they are normally in the shape of a leaf.)

So when I saw them in a picture just flattened with a fork, I thought to myself “well, hell, I can do that!”

2.5 hours later I was done. They are still time consuming even without a mold. But ohhhh so worth it. I have to say, they are pretty much my favorite candy. I had to resist the temptation to eat half of them.

And of course, I had to make a few from molds.

And they aren’t in the shape of a leaf.

I wonder why.

Cream Cheese Mints

1 package cream cheese (the real stuff)

1 package powdered sugar.

Couple drops of food coloring

Couple drops of flavor of your choice (these are cinnamon and mint) add as much as you want until you get the right taste.

Mix the two together. 1/2 cup of sugar at a time until the consistancy is not sticky and moldable. It may take the whole package of sugar. It may not.

Roll into small balls. Press with fork. Dip in sugar (be careful, they are a little mushy at this point still) and then let dry on wax paper.

Seriously, very easy. Just takes time. I doubled this recipe, as to why it took me so much time.

So if I don’t have these at my wedding, then it’ll be bad?? 😉 Miss you guys!

No, I have no doubt, you’re wedding will be amazing. Just more amazing if it had cream cheese mints. 🙂

Haha thank you! I am actually planning on making these next week to see how I like them. I bought the mint flavoring and it had the same recipe on the back of the box! 🙂
