When ever I get to feeling a little low about the old cars I drive……this is what I remember. Those sacrifices are what makes these kinds of things happen for me. There are things I give up in order to go on these trips. Nothing can take these experiences away from me. The trade I make for them is priceless.
I found a song (at the bottom of the post) a while back and I think its lyrics are quite fitting:
Every dollar counts, every morning hurts
We mostly work to live…until we live to work.
She said “you know, there’s no where else to to go. “
but the change in roles, it struck me that the two of us could …….run.
It’s fitting for my life. I’ve had a running partner for a long time now and it would be terrible not to thank him for that. He’s been part of my adventures for 10 years now. We were celebrating a little of that on this trip. We’ve been around the world together, we’ve seen and done things neither of us could have ever imagined. But…it’s just the beginning. We’re just getting out feet wet.
I spent my last day in Hawaii snorkling with colorful fish. Sleeping under a tree until the sun soaked every ounce of energy out of me. I opened a pearl to find I had picked one that was pink. Nothing better than a pink pearl. And of course…I attended a luau. You can’t really go to Hawaii without doing that. And I drank coffee on the pierre for that last time while watching the fisherman bring in their catch.

Song: Run, Vampire Weekend
These are absolutely amazing photos Stacey. You captured Hawaii perfectly. I was there a couple of times when I was younger. You’ve made me want to go back real soon. 🙂 I LOVE the surf boards photo.
Love the pictures and your words. The picture of the guy and the surfboards with the guy in the business suit behind him is just perfect; I just love the contrast of work and play!
