Thumbprints

We’re trying to spice up our activities around here. Make them a little more fun than just practicing reading and writing and all that jazz. After all, it is summer time, a kid has to have a bit of a break now and then, and he will be doing that kind of stuff every single day in just a couple months.  So in addition to joining the summer reading program at the library, (which I recommend for kids and adults) we are on the look out for little projects to do here and there.

I found this awesome book for thumb print characters by Ed Emberly. I thought it was incredibly clever.

You can buy it here.

And of course there was a dinosaur in there.

And of course we had to come up with new dinosaur ideas.

It was a perfect way to spend an afternoon.

And I will be turning the little T-Rex thumb print into notecards for the little man to send out in the mail whenever he wants.
