Where the Buffalo Roam

It really doesn’t matter where in the world I am.

I rise with the sun.

I see the sunrise most days with a cup of coffee in hand. And when I’m not at home, I’m normally out meandering.

It’s my quiet time. And even if I’m working at the computer, I will grab my coffee, get up and take a minute to greet the day.

John Lennon once said “When you do something beautiful and nobody noticed, do not be sad…..for the sun every morning is a beautiful spectacle  and yet most of the audience still sleeps.” which is why I’m thankful to be in the audience at all, be it small.

So when I visit Thermopolis, if the weather permits I try to find a hill to climb. There’s only one that I haven’t tackled and now it’s on my list.

I quietly sat and watched the sun peak over the hill this past weekend. I put my rock on the pile. Signed the register and went on my way (of course after I had taken several pictures, because I rarely go anywhere without my giant backpack on.)

I also ran into the herd of buffalo that live in that area. Normally they are hiding from me, but this time they were right there. No I did not get out of my car. We just stared at one another, said good morning, and both went on our way.
