Our plan was to head to the city. The Zoo. Waterworld. Finish out the summer list.
We changed our plans.
We just didn’t want to wait in lines.
Listen to a million kids screaming and yelling.
Burning out in 100 degree weather.
Not that all of that is bad….it was just time to slow down.
So we headed to the hills. And over the mountains. We wandered. The boys fished a little and while I hung out on my favorite blanket and did nothing. We picniced and tried to nap a little. Just watched the breeze in the trees. We ended up in Saratoga. At the hot pools and spent the majority of the afternoon in the warm part of the river picking out the prettiest rocks we could find. We had the biggest ice cream bubble gum ice cream scoops ever. We had dinner with the cousins and met a brand new baby. All in life was well. We watched as the sun turn the hills purple on the way back home and then the moon light the road. It was perfect. A perfect, most unlaborous, Labor Day.
