Most of last year, if you saw me around town, I was in a baseball hat, and a sweatshirt and jeans and covered in paint. Or dirt. Then, toward the fall I got tired. Really tired. So I quit painting. And rolling around in the dirt.
Until today.
I had the sudden urge to work on something. So I started on the bakers pantry. I’ve always wanted an awesome pantry in my house…. and this one has it. I love it. Though……it was REALLY ugly when we moved in. And besides replacing the counter top in there, I haven’t done anything. I moved in, wiped the shelves down, threw stuff in there, and have lived that way for a while now.
But I couldn’t take it anymore. It was bothering me. And once I get bothered, it has to be fixed. IMMEDIATELY.
In old houses… there are layers. Layers upon layers upon layers. Which I love to peel away. The insides of the cupboards were painted brown and pink and had some green and yellow, etc. I…of course, wanted it white. I like white. I have come to accept that in my old age… I really like white. So I covered the bottom layers with white. (Well off white to be exact)
And I love it. I took the cupboard doors off and left them off. So it’s open on that one side. Oh and I found an awesome spice holder for the baking spices. I wouldn’t want it out on my countertop or anything, but I love it in there. It fit perfectly with what I wanted to do in there.
Now… only 3/4 left of it to go!
