The Recipe with All the Things that Don’t Go Together.

Because it’s the Holidays and the holidays are mostly about food… really they are.

I’ve always said.. that there is one universal thing in this world that pretty much every one can agree on. Food brings people together. Now, I’m not saying that conversation over food will bring you closer, but it will get you to the same table. And that is such a good thing.

I spend a good share of the holidays cooking.

Like a lot of cooking actually.

And had you told me, the kid who ate nothing, that I would grow up to love to cook and bake, I would have scoffed. I would have rolled my eyes and snorted too.

But you never know what will happen when you grow up.

And I the kid, who was beyond the pickiest of picky…. adore to cook.  And fix. And make things look so pretty. And to take pictures of my pretty concoctions.

Thank you my friend for the amazing recipe, and reading my mind when I ask for that one recipe with all the things that don’t go together but it tastes amazing. Posting here so I don’t forget!!!! Also, I changed it up a bit, so writing down what I changed!

Pecan Cheese Spread

Ingredients

8 ounce cream cheese at room temperature

1 teaspoon grated onion

 1 teaspoon minced garlic

 1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

2 teaspoons dijon mustard

1 1/2 cups chopped pecans

Instructions

Toast pecans on medium for a few minutes. In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, onion, and garlic. Spoon onto a serving platter.  In a saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard. Cook on medium-low heat for 4 to 5 minutes or until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in pecans. Cool slightly before spooning over cream cheese mixture. Serve with your favorite crackers.

Or… if you aren’t into cooking and cutting up stuff is your thing, making charcuterie spreads are my new favorite hobby!

Or if you aren’t into food at all… just make some wassail…. the smell alone will make you so, so, so happy….recipe here.
