A Thank You

One morning on the mountain I had gotten up a little early and was taking photos of the sunrise. I looked behind me and on a rock in the distance was Michael having his morning tea/coffee. I regret not taking his photo but I didn’t want to disturb him as I could tell he was just taking it all in, much like I do in the mornings… my favorite time of day. But when I think of him, that is how I picture him, on a rock, enjoying the sunrise and new warmth of the day.

I wanted to extend a huge thank you to Michael. He is a born leader. And can command the attention and motivate any group of people he comes into contact with.  He’s one of the happiest people I have met. I cannot wait to see what he will be doing next!

So Michael….

Thank you for taking us to your home village and inviting us into your home (please thank your beautiful Winnie for the food)

Thank you for joining us on the mountain. I know the experience was so good for you.

Thank you for taking such good care of us and making sure we were taken care of when you weren’t available.

Thank you for sharing your experience and expertise on the Serengeti. It truly is amazing the knowledge you have. Thank you for joining us for all the dinners and laughing and all the stories. I truly am changed because of the whole experience.  Please visit soon. We miss you already.

I also want to thank everyone on the mountain, though I know they might not ever read this, but we could not have done it without you. The porters and the guides are some of the most amazing people I have met. Our little gift of the hats was not enough, but hopefully you will remember us when you wear them.

Africa changed me.

For the good.

Changed my perspective about so many things.

And I thank it for that.

    Michael,
I agree with everything Stacey said about you and your crew.
Yes, Africa will change you forever.
It’s difficult to explain to others that haven’t experienced this.
    Love ❤️ you Michael 😘

It is very difficult to explain! It’s the first place I’ve visited that I feel the need to return….
