Baby It’s Windy Out There…..

Sometimes here on the plains, the wind gets the best of me.  My head, eyes, hair, skin…. just can’t.

So when I suggested shooting indoors for part of the time…. there wasn’t much argument.

That’s the great thing about having clients that you have known forever. They let you do whatever you need to do. And I love that.

I started out shooting against white walls years ago. It’s how I learned how to use a camera. My settings. My light. How it would shine in someone’s eyes if you stand in a certain direction.  I also learned it was how to get the most simple yet bold photos. The freckles show. The eyes shine. And emotion… shows… because that’s all there is. And those smiles.

We went out for a while. Braved the wind. Tried to throw fake snow that we made. It didn’t work . Flew right over their heads every time! Wind. Bleh.

I have fond memories of both these boys as tiny babies. And they have changed so very much over the years. The oldest smiles like his dad. The youngest is so shy and favors his mom’s attributes. Watching kids grow. Become who they are… is one of my greatest joys.

Thank you for letting me do that.
