Ready or Not…

I’ve had a couple shoots in the last month that have brought so much nostalgia to me, that it’s almost overwhelming.

Something I love about what I do.

There is something about driving to the country, down dirt roads, past fields of cattle. Past pastures that have been prepared for the winter. Past the long shadows of the windmills… there is something about doing that, that brings me so much comfort.

I arrived early and got to chat with her parents, always in Wyoming knowing that they will know someone I did or do. Putting all the pieces together.

They arrived with a giant dog. And then I got the tour of the land. And it was amazing. And smelled familiar. The barn. The hay. And the lurking of the animals nearby. Even the wild ones.

They are about to bring a new member into the world…. to her family and his.  That’s always an exciting and scary thing to do for the first time.  They seem ready. Excited. And I love seeing that calm in new parents to be.  He calms her. Makes her laugh. Made me laugh. I loved that. And in turn you could tell that she loves him dearly for that.

We ended the day next to the windmill. It was just gorgeous. The wind died down and it was calm. A warmer Wyoming evening. Not especially normal this time of year, but beautiful none-the-less.

Thank you guys for letting me capture this time for you.
