I Choose…

happy.

That was my choice yesterday and it is still my choice today.

The below photo was the first picture I took today.

After I  got out of bed, read the news and drank some coffee….I  put on my red white and blue clothes and walked out into the beautiful sun of an unusually warm November day..with no wind.

The second photo I took this morning was of my son leading his school in the pledge of allegiance. I got to listen to children, many also dressed in red white and blue,  sing uplifting American songs. I got to have my father, and half of my spouse’s family stand in front of the school and be honored for serving their country.  And I got to hug my dad, and many others today. Hoping they felt my love and appreciation.  And I got to hear all the children cheer in unison, exhilaration, jubilation and glee.  All together.

All together guys.

And that… made it a beautiful day.

I choose happy.

I choose to see things that are right out my back door.  To see them with a happy heart and thankfulness that I get to see them.  Because guys… it really is beautiful out there. Here in America.

And man,  we are lucky, lucky people….

We live in an awe inspiring country.

Truly awesome.

I choose to help make others happy. Catch moments that can live forever.

No, it’s not the most important job out there.  I know that.  But it’s a small piece I can do.  And I hope to continue to make that piece bigger. And better as I get older.

I choose to help in ways that I can….  wherever I can.  In my community. In the world.

And I choose kindness.

I choose to see it every day.
