Baked Sweet Potato Fries with Honey Mustard Sauce

When I was a kid, I went to a restaurant  with my Grandma Sophie. My Grandma Sophie hardly ever went out to eat. Ever. She was one of the best cooks I knew, and there was no reason for her to go out to eat. Well, I decided to order chocolate pie while we were out (because I normally ordered pie instead of food when I was a kid.)  My grandmother asked for a taste of it, gave me a  big smile,  and then went back to eating. The next afternoon, after a hard day of playing with all my cousins, I came inside and there was a chocolate pie waiting for me.  She of course made it better and tastier.

It’s one of my favorite memories of her.

I do the same thing alllll the time. When I travel, I tend to come home and try to make all the things I loved while I was traveling. Sometimes they come out awesome and delicious. Sometimes I miss the mark, but that’s part of the fun of it.

On this last trip, my friend and I had a lovely little lunch next to the river in her little town. She had sweet potato fries and honey mustard sauce. I ate half of her food. Apparently, honey mustard sauce is big out in Silverton. I noticed it came with everything. Especially with and on sandwich food. Sooo, I came home and made it. Of course I did, because that’s what I do!

Here’s my rendition of what I had I my trip.
