It’s Rover

That’s what my toddler boy, who is now not a toddler anymore, used to say when things were finished. “It’s Rover!!!”

Summer vacation is coming to a close. I’ve gotten to spend so much awesome fun time with my little Dino man and had so many adventures close and far from home. I feel so lucky to be able to do that.  We tried to fit in every single thing we could. The past week we hiked and ate and watched movies and went to movies  and swam and read and played games and painted and worked on Christmas presents (I know I’m early in that department, but there is no better time than when it’s raining.) It was a cooler summer. I can count on one hand how many days I was actually hot. It went far too fast. I wish I could stop the clock for just a bit, but I know it must keep ticking.

Today we got to spend some time with our favorite college girl who is about to be moving a little further away. I’m happy to see her follow her golden, path but sad to be losing her. She brings sunshine into all our lives. We also flew a kite as I promised for the end of summers well. It’s been about 30 years since I last flew a kite and it took a bit to learn how to do it again, but with the help of some old men and their dogs, we got it figured out.

Cheers to another wonderful summer, may we have many many more to come.
