Bubble Gum Ice Cream

As a kid, because I grew up in the 80’s, my favorite ice cream was bubble gum ice cream. I think kids back then either loved it, or hated it. I LOVED IT. I loved it SO MUCH.  I ate it while roller skating around the neighborhood in my parachute pants.

They don’t really sell it anymore around here (but you can get it from Dairyland in Thermopolis! Thank you Gerbers for offering that!!!!), so I decided to try and make it. It’s not really a hard thing to do. It takes a little time. And it’s really hard to wait overnight for it. I made it for our Friday day, the day that I spend doing all kinds of Dino Dude things, all day.  (Among a whole list of things we went to How to Train Your Dragon 2, and LOVED it.) Back to the ice cream. I left out the little bits. I didn’t really love them anyway. They were cold and hurt my teeth, so I just went with the wonderful ice cream. And it was worth the wait. It tasted just like the kind you buy.  Also, when you make it, use gel food coloring from a cake decorating place. They color a little bit better.
