An Easter Project Weekend

For the first time in years we stayed home and did not cook for Easter. It was fantastic (thank you friends for “inviting” us to spend the day with you and for the delicious food!) I didn’t worry about food. My dino dude is getting a little old for Easter egg hunts, and he has kind of disliked them all along the way, so we didn’t worry about that either. It was kind of awesome actually. We went to sunrise service and then spent the rest of the day trying not to be tired! We dyed eggs earlier in the week (using the rubber band  method) and made an awesome carrot cake (you can find the recipe here.)

But before we sang our alleluias , we spent the day watching a kiddo play soccer and then started a new garden project. Boxes. We have to raise part of our garden this year. The weeds are absolutely uncontrollable. Normally after a few years , they kind of just go away…but these guys are ruthless. So up we go. And since the little man is getting a little bit older….he was put in charge of painting the garden fence. I love handing that job over to him.

We also had a little bit of progress on the Dino Dudes new room (it has been a looooooooooooong drawn out process since the last update, so thank goodness we aren’t any any hurry really) The window went in last week…..AND NOW THERE IS LIGHT!!!! YAY! Egress windows are crazy to put in and the guidelines are really strict about them if you intend to ever sell the house, so it’s pretty big. Enough for a big person to just step up and get out.
